Biography
Lara's 'For Her' mixtape which dropped in 2020 saw her work alongside talents like JOY., with success across both commercial and community radio serving as evidence of her wide-reaching appeal. Praise from publications like NME, Complex and The Guardian as well as support from Jungwoo of Korean supergroup NCT, who shouted out single 'Trophy' which subsequently trended on Melon. The project was quickly followed by the release of single 'when the lights go out', which has earned over 1 million streams to date.
Lara connected with Yolngu rapper Baker Boy on the 2021 single 'Headphones' off of his multi-ARIA award winning album, which granted Lara an ARIA herself for the track. Lara then joined Baker Boy's national tour, plus appearances on Nova Red Room, ABC program The Sound, and WOMAdelaide festival in front of 15,000 attendees.
In 2022, Lara joined UK producer Joel Corry on his Australian tour, with his support acting as confirmation of her global appeal. With the release of her tracks 'Head To Toe', 'Diamond In The Rough', 'What U Want' and Year 3000' off of her recently released debut EP 'DIAMONDS & DEJAVU’ Lara expresses, "It’s the first time I’m opening up about my bisexuality and showing my fluidity".
The EP has come with love from triple j, FBI, CADA and more. Press Coverage for the EP includes from VICE, Happy Mag, Acclaim, Cheatcoders, FutureMag, The AU Review, Ungrained, Spectrum and more. Playlisting has come in the form of NMF’s across multiple territories including AU&NZ, Philippines, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and more as well as genre editorial support on R&B Connect, Pop Rising, R&B Feels and more. Lara recently toured Australia and NZ with American artist Blxst, and gained significant attention on TikTok with her live performances from the shows. Off the back of these shows, she embarked on her first headline tour in May/June across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
